Heart of the Dolomites: 8-day deep walking crossing

Itinerary Essence:

Fly to Venice, pick up by special car, drive to Cortina d’Ampezzo surrounded by mountains for about 2 hours, and stay in the hotel to rest.
○ From tomorrow, we will be staying at the Takayama Log Cabin for five consecutive nights. The alpine cabins in the Dolomites are the essence of the Alpine experience. Not only do they provide warm accommodation, hot showers and delicious dining, but we have specially upgraded them to independent double rooms to ensure your comfort and privacy.

In the morning, hike up the Tofano Ridge, pass Gedina Lake, climb the pass at an altitude of about 1,700 meters, and arrive at Uberto. After a short rest, the special car took us to the other side of the valley. Afternoon hike exploring the Cristallo Mountains.

In the early morning, hike downhill, cross forest trails, and arrive at the alpine wooden cabin at the foot of Sorapis Mountain at an altitude of 3,200 meters for lunch. In the afternoon, visit one of the most beautiful lakes in the Dolomites-Solapis Lake, formed by glacial meltwater, which takes on turquoise or sapphire blue in different light. Then hike to the mountain wooden cabin where you stay tonight.

Discover the iconic landscape of the Dolomites on foot today-the Three Spikes known for its three towering peaks. At noon, taste local specialties such as Tyrolean jiaozi and stewed beef soup in the alpine wooden cabin. Before 1919, it was the border between Italy and the Austro-Hungarian Empire, and it still retains the ruins of tunnels, bunkers and barracks left over from the First World War.
○ Today’s hiking: about 16 kilometers | 6 hours | Cumulative climb of about 850 meters, descent of about 530 meters
Accommodation: Takayama Chalet (Independent Double Room)

Descend along the Rienza Valley to an alpine lake. After a short rest, the special bus will be sent to the foot of Lagazoe Mountain. Then a hike climb to the summit of Mount Lagazoe at 2,778 meters above sea level. During the First World War, Italian soldiers dug tunnels here to surprise Austrian forts. We will visit some of the sites that have been preserved to this day. In the evening, sit on the terrace of an alpine wooden cabin at 2700 meters above sea level, overlooking the magnificent mountains of the Dolomites.
○ Today’s hiking: about 16 kilometers | 7 hours | Cumulative climb of about 1,050 meters, descent of about 1,400 meters


Hike up the ridge to the lush alpine meadow, cross the rolling pass with an altitude of about 2,000 meters, and overlook the panoramic view of the Dolomites. Enjoy a light meal in the mountain wooden cabin at noon. After a short rest, walk all the way through the forest and visit Lake Croda at an altitude of 2,000 meters. Finally, a special bus will take you back to your hotel in Cortina.
○ Today’s hike: about 9 kilometers | 5 hours | Cumulative climb of about 300 meters, descent of about 700 meters

Drop off to Venice or Milan airport by special car, and the trip is successfully concluded.
