Day 4 Travel to Cussamer

It takes about 5 hours to drive to Kusammer on the Finnish-Russian border, which is famous for its unique canopy shape covered with snow. Driving on the empty northern highway, reindeer pass by from time to time, frozen lakes and continuous forests alternately appear, and the long journey is boring.

Today, I stayed in a mountain residence with only 8 rooms, overlooking the boundless forest and snowfields. An open-air hot tub and sauna are available at an additional cost. The restaurant serves a fusion of Nordic and French cuisine, accompanied by a selection of mellow wines.

Put on your snowshoes and hike through the hilly snowfields (about 4 hours). In the dim blue light of morning and dusk, the pine forest covered with thick snow shows all kinds of shapes. If the sky is clear, the scene is like a fairy tale dream; If it meets a dark cloud, it will turn into a mysterious misty forest.

Day 10 Lofoten Islands: Fishing Village Culture and Sea Experience
Fishing is the lifeblood of Lofoten’s culture and economy. You will follow an experienced captain and go fishing in a traditional wooden boat (11:00-13:30), experience a fisherman’s adventure dating back to the Viking era, and enjoy the fjord scenery and soaring seabirds along the way. The fresh fish caught will be handled on site by the captain and cooked and enjoyed as lunch ingredients.

In the afternoon, visit three of the most beautiful fishing villages in Norway-Hamney, Saliksoy and Rayne, and you will encounter long soft white sand beaches along the way. Stop and go, take pictures as a souvenir, and time flows unconsciously. Tonight, stay at the traditional fisherman’s wooden cabin in Hamney area, which is convenient to enjoy the sunset and sunrise.

Dinner is arranged in a family-style tavern with authentic seafood dishes. All ingredients are sourced from local farmers and hunters, and cod, flounder, seaweed, berries, snow rabbits and sparrow are cooked in a wonderful island flavor in a sustainable way.
