A nine-day soul trip into the hinterland of the Swiss Alps

Day 1 Arrival in Zurich

Fly to Zurich and pick up to the hotel by special car. If time permits, you can visit the Zurich Kunsthalle (closing at 18 o’clock), which houses outstanding modern art works by masters such as Giacometti, Munch, Picasso and Monet.

Day 2 Lake Uri and Mount Pilatus
Take an hour’s bus ride to Lake Uri, and reach the village of Selisberg, which overlooks the mountains and lakes, by combining ferry and gear train. In 1291, the first three cantons of the Swiss Confederation swore an alliance at the foot of the mountain in Rutley Meadow, which is regarded as the cradle of Switzerland’s founding.
Take a stroll along the forest path for about 1.5 hours to the village of Bowen, which preserves its traditional architecture, and enjoy a three-course lunch at the restaurant facing the lake. Then go to Mount Pilatus and take the cable car directly to the wild luxury hotel located at the top of the mountain. Avoid the hustle and bustle of tourists in the daytime, and enjoy the beautiful scenery of sunrise and sunset in the guest room.
* Pilatus Mountain Top Hotel is famous for its unparalleled landscape, and its hardware facilities are about the boutique four-star level; If you are more comfortable, you can choose to upgrade to another accommodation such as the Bürgenstock Hotel.

Day 3 Bern excursion to Interlaken
It takes about 1.5 hours to ride to Bern, the capital of Switzerland, which has the best preserved architectural features of the 15 th-16 th century in the country. Explore its iconic church, bell tower, gardens and museum on foot. Then continue to drive for about 1 hour to the Interlaken area.
Different from the regular itinerary, we will stay in a wild luxury hotel in a small mountain village far away from downtown Interlaken, only accessible by train (no road), surrounded by mountains, and stay here for 2 consecutive nights to explore the Jungfraujoch Mountains in depth.

Day 4 Jungfraujoch Mountain Trekking Exploration
Proceed to the small town of Grindelwald and transfer to the cable car to the start of the Eiger hiking trail. Then hike about 7 kilometers under the shade of the north wall of Eiger Peak (mainly downhill, about 2-3 hours, Xian Yi for all ages), enjoying the Lauterbrunnen Valley and the majestic Eiger Peak along the way. Continue to transfer trains to the pass at an altitude of 2,000 meters, and enjoy lunch at a restaurant surrounded by Eiger, Monk Peak and Jungfraujoch. In the afternoon, we continue to hike for about 5 km (about 1.5 hours) before returning to the hotel.
Optional experience at your own expense
If you want to shorten the hiking time, you can add the Jungfraujoch Observation Deck to climb to the summit (at your own expense).

Day 5 Interlaken Regional Activity to Aletsch Glacier

Depending on your interests and physical fitness, the following two options are available:

Option A (Ranch Village, Easy and Pleasant) Visiting two quaint villages deep in the Lauterbrunnen Valley is like the Alpine pastures depicted in Heidi and Grandpa. Walk along the mountain path for about 7 kilometers (2-3 hours), passing through pastures dotted with flowers, cattle with crisp bells, and overlooking the towering mountain of Xuelang Peak.

Option B (mountain lake, requiring better physical fitness) Hike around the Lake Öchinen trail known as one of the most beautiful lakes in Switzerland (about 9 km, 3-4 hours).

 

After the activity, take about 2 hours by bus to the Aletsch Glacier area, stay in a 150-year-old alpine hotel, and you can overlook the rolling mountains and magnificent glaciers from your room.

Day 6 Aletsch Glacier Activity to Zermatt

Depending on your interests and physical fitness, the following two options are available:

Option A (glacier observation deck and quaint village, relaxed and pleasant) In the morning, take the cable car to the Aletsch Glacier Observation Deck for an easy walk tour nearby; In the afternoon, visit the well-preserved quaint villages of the 15 th-16 th century in the Goms Valley.

Option B (hiking on mountain trails, requiring good physical fitness) Hike along the alpine trail halfway up the mountain (about 12 km, 4-5 hours), overlooking the Aletsch Glacier, which winds like a python, and get up close and personal with the glacier.

 

After the tour, go to Zermatt and stay in a wild luxury hotel with modern and simple design style. You can enjoy the mountain view of Matterhorn and the scenery of Zermatt town in your room, and stay here for 2 consecutive nights.

Day 7 Full-day exploration of Zermatt

Depending on your fitness, choose alpine trail hikes of varying difficulties and admire the iconic triangular cone-shaped Matterhorn from all angles (optional hike duration ranges from 3 hours to 8 hours). Return to the hotel after the hike and enjoy a leisurely holiday time.

Day 8 Sion Wine Region Experience, to Lake Geneva
Explore Switzerland’s most important wine region, Sion in Valais, home to the famous white wine Sassla, by biking or on foot (choose one of the two, easy difficulty). At noon, on the terrace overlooking the continuous vineyards, enjoy a wine fondue characteristic of French-speaking Switzerland, with seasoned beef and a bottle of local wine.
Arrive at the boutique hotel on the shores of Lake Geneva in the afternoon and start a leisurely lakeside vacation.

Day 9 The end of the trip, and the return journey will be sent to the airport

Depending on your flight time, a special bus will take you to Geneva or Zurich airport to end this wonderful trip to the Swiss Alps. If you have enough time, you can extend your trip to other parts of Switzerland or Lake Como in northern Italy.
