Using sound as a guide, explore Jade’s voice: from the quietness of the whole car to the auditory revolution of rainbow three-way frequency

In the field of car audio modification, what can really impress people’s hearts and build long-term trust is often not the low price tag, but the profound technical background behind the modification shop, the meticulous craftsmanship pursuit of details, and the professional service system that always puts customers’ listening experience first. Every in-depth audio upgrade is a systematic engineering and artistic creation that integrates the personalized listening needs of car owners with rigorous acoustic scientific principles.

In view of the comprehensive evolution of Honda Jade’s sound system, we conducted in-depth communication and demand analysis with car owners, and finally jointly finalized a set of core configuration plans aimed at pursuing the restoration of sound essence, focusing on sound quality accuracy and musical appeal. The specific list is as follows:

The front sound field core speaker uses the German Rainbow SL series three-way package with excellent reputation. This set of speakers is famous for its highly balanced timbre, accurate phase characteristics and rich musical details. It can build a stereo sound field with excellent depth, height and width for the front driver’s seat and passenger’s position, bringing an immersive listening experience.

For the rear sound field part, we decided to keep the original car horn unchanged. In the active frequency division system that focuses on creating the ultimate listening experience of the “emperor’s position” in the front row, the rear sound field usually mainly plays the role of creating and slightly filling the sound field atmosphere. This strategy helps to concentrate the system budget and debugging energy on the optimization of the core listening area, and ensure the maximum efficiency of resource utilization.

In order to improve the full-band response, a 6.5-inch subwoofer of American DD brand is specially added. This woofer unit is highly praised for its compact volume design and rapid and powerful low-frequency transient response, which can effectively make up for the details and energy of the extremely low frequency band in music, and make the overall listening experience fuller, more solid and more layered.

The drive and control part is the technical highlight of this system. The front sound field is driven by a Magic Cube six-channel power amplifier using active frequency division mode. This means that each unit of treble, mid-range and mid-bass has an independent power amplifier channel for direct drive, and combined with the built-in high-performance DSP processor of the power amplifier, digital signal processing, frequency division and time delay correction are accurate to millimeters, so as to achieve the ultimate control of each speaker unit and ensure the purity of sound and the accuracy of image.

Powering the subwoofer is a Magic Cube high-power single-channel power amplifier. Its task is to ensure that the woofer obtains sufficient and pure power reserve, achieve clean and freely retractable low-frequency performance, and eliminate procrastination and distortion.

Quality sound begins at the source. We upgraded the audio source host to Kenwood professional digital player, which can provide high-resolution, low-jitter digital audio signal output, laying a solid and pure foundation for the subsequent high-fidelity restoration of the entire audio signal chain.

Last, but not least, is to create an ideal environment for the sound system to play. We systematically constructed Japanese Dishen brand sound insulation and shock-proof materials on key parts of the whole vehicle, including chassis, door panels, trunk and wheel arcs. This project aims to significantly reduce the inevitable road noise, wind noise and sheet metal structure resonance during vehicle driving, and provide a quiet and solid “stage” for expensive audio equipment, so that every sound input can be clearly perceived.

 

The following will share with you in detail the complete process and details of this modification from construction to adjustment. Rigorous craftsmanship is the physical guarantee of excellent sound quality, while scientific tuning is the key to endowing the system with its soul.

The first step in audio modification, and the foundation within the foundation, is to create a quiet cabin environment. We first carried out the sound insulation and noise reduction construction of the whole vehicle. The picture shows the effect after the sound insulation construction of the chassis part is completed. We selected the shock absorbing plate and sound-absorbing materials of the Japanese Dishen brand, and through scientific pasting, we effectively suppressed the introduction of chassis sheet metal vibration and road noise.

The rear trunk is the hardest hit area of low-frequency resonance, and it is also the location where the subwoofer cabinet is placed, so the sound insulation here is particularly important. We have carried out comprehensive anti-shock and sealing treatment on it.

Dishen sound insulation and shock-proof materials are tightly and standardized on the steel plate of the car body, which is a key step to suppress resonance and improve the rigidity of the car body.

On top of the anti-shock layer, we lay a double layer of high-efficiency sound-absorbing cotton to absorb residual noise in the medium and high frequency bands and further purify the listening environment.

The door is the mounting base of the speaker, and the treatment of its internal structure directly affects the sound quality. We have carried out detailed anti-shock treatment on the inner steel plate of the door, turning the door into a solid box, providing ideal conditions for the horn to work.

The midwoofer unit in the rainbow three-way package is securely installed in the original position of the front door with strengthened sound insulation. Professional gasket and seal treatment ensure its working efficiency.

In order to obtain accurate sound field positioning and the best frequency band connection, we installed the midrange unit and tweeter unit in the rainbow package on the A-pillar through the inverted mold process. Its mounting angle is precisely calculated to create an optimal projection facing the driver’s seat.

The effect after the A-pillar inverted mold is completed. The cladding materials are in harmony with the original car interior style, achieving the perfect unity of visual aesthetics and acoustic functionality.

The “brain” and core driving force of the system-Magic Cube DSP processor and six-channel power amplifier are cleverly hidden and installed at the bottom of the passenger seat, saving space and facilitating heat dissipation.

The Magic Cube single-channel power amplifier, which specially drives subwoofer, has also been installed in place, providing a steady stream of pure energy for surging low frequencies.

The American DD 6.5-inch subwoofer is installed in a custom cabinet. Despite its compact size, it contains huge low-frequency energy and excellent control. It is a sharp weapon to enhance the atmosphere and impact of the system.

The Kenwood professional digital broadcast host is integrated and installed in the original panel position in the car, which is easy to operate and highly integrated with the original car interior.

Safety is the first principle of modification. We have installed a high-current master safety seat that complies with safety regulations for the entire sound system to ensure the safety of electricity use.

After all the hardware is installed, enter the most critical tuning stage. With the help of professional tuning equipment and software, we finely measure and adjust the frequency response, phase, time delay and other parameters of the system.
