Trumpchi GA 8 audio upgrade solution blueprint: the ideal combination of German zero-point active three-way system and six-channel power amplifier

German Ground Zero RC 165.3 SQ ATC series three-way speakers are highly regarded in the field of car audio modification for their excellent cost performance. This series of units adopts a unique 3-ohm low-impedance design, which can significantly improve the driving efficiency and energy sense of sound, and can obtain sufficient sound pressure levels and extremely high sensitivity with relatively small power input. This feature makes it more accurate to restore the details of the sound source signal, and finally presents a top-level listening feeling with mellow, full and infectious mid-frequency vocals, and natural, smooth, delicate and transparent high-frequency extension. More importantly, it is more friendly to the output power demand of the power amplifier, thus greatly reducing the load and loss on the vehicle electrical system, which perfectly fits the current car audio modification industry’s systematic upgrade trend of high performance, low power consumption and high quality.

The owner of this GAC Chuanqi GA 8 has undergone a preliminary audio upgrade earlier, adopting a two-way system consisting of four “Voice of Berlin” style speakers with other brands of power amplifiers and DSP processors. However, this combination has never been able to accurately capture and meet the car owner’s strict pursuit of sound quality level, detailed analysis and emotional expression, and there is obvious room for improvement in the overall expressiveness of the system.

 

 

In view of the listening needs of car owners and the shortcomings of the original car system, after professional evaluation and audition, we have tailored the following systematic upgrade scheme for them:

Sound source host: Keep the original main engine and extract high-quality audio signals through high-quality processors.

Digital Audio Processor: Mosconi DSP-8 + 5 V is responsible for high-precision adjustment and signal optimization of the entire vehicle sound field.

Front Soundstage Speaker: German Ground Zero RC 165.3 SQ ATC three-way package.

Subwoofer: German Ground Zero 10-inch original factory preset cabinet subwoofer.

Main channel power amplifier: Mosconi six-channel E 600 independently drives the front soundfield three-way active sound splitting system.

Bass amplifier: Use the power amplifier previously modified by the owner to drive the newly added zero-point subwoofer.

Full car audio wires: Adopt customized wire sets that meet professional standards to ensure lossless signal transmission.

In the choice of subwoofer, we provide car owners with an intuitive comparative audition: on the left side of the picture below is the car owner’s original Rambler 10-inch bass, and on the right side is the German zero 10-inch bass. After detailed A/B comparison, zero bass has won the final recognition of car owners with its better dive depth, cleaner low-frequency transient response and elastic low-frequency texture, and its effect advantages are obvious.

After the construction started, when disassembling the door panel, we found that the sound insulation project constructed by the previous modification institute did not meet the strict technological standards of our store in terms of material fit and coverage integrity. In order to ensure the best acoustic environment and loudspeaker performance, we decided to reconstruct the sound insulation of the four doors. The figure below clearly shows the significant differences in details and standardization between our standardized construction (right) and previous construction (left).

The retreated door provides a solid mounting base for the German Zero mid-woofer unit. The installation is finished as shown, and the horn gasket is handled professionally and sealed in place, creating ideal acoustic load conditions for the unit to work.

One of the core technical highlights of this modification lies in the inverted positioning of the treble and midrange units of the A-pillar. The modification of the A-pillar is by no means a simple installation and fixation. It is directly related to the height, width, depth and accuracy of the sound field of the entire system, and it is the key to determine whether the sound system can achieve “out-of-box feeling” and stage feeling. Based on years of acoustic positioning experience and the actual listening point of the owner’s driver’s seat, we fix the treble and midrange units on the A-pillar at the best angle through accurate calculation and manual polishing. This is not an armchair strategist, but a standardized technical practice after our accumulated profound modification experience.

The details of the A-pillar mold inversion process are presented. Its surface coating is highly unified with the texture and color of the original car interior, and its shape is smooth and natural. While achieving top-level acoustic positioning, it greatly improves the visual aesthetics and the sense of integration with the original factory.

The core electronic equipment is installed in a concealed way. The Magic Cube DSP processor and six-channel power amplifier are integrated and installed under the main driver’s seat, which not only saves space, but also facilitates debugging and maintenance.

The power amplifier used to independently drive the zero point 10-inch subwoofer is placed under the passenger seat to achieve a balanced layout of the system and efficient heat dissipation management.

In order to ensure the electricity safety of the entire high-power audio system, we have installed a professional high-current power supply safety holder on the battery side, which is an indispensable safety guarantee link in professional modification.

After all the hardware installation and wiring work is completed, we use professional software and test microphones to carefully adjust the system for several hours, including delay, phase, equalization and other parameter settings, until the preset perfect sound field and balanced listening experience are achieved. Finally, thoroughly clean and restore the inside and outside of the vehicle. At this point, the audio system upgrade project of this Trumpchi GA 8 has been successfully completed, and it is ready to be delivered to the looking forward to car owners.
